Let’s Play!

Let’s Play!

Friends, I want to share a program with you today that is truly inspirational.

The second I learned about the Let’s Play initiative, I knew I wanted to spread the word.

And, I think you will want to as well!

Let me fill you in…

As we embark on a brand new school year, children all over the nation will be heading back to school.

And while academics will be prioritized, moments for our kids to engage in active play are paramount as well.

There’s a camaraderie and a team-player mentality learned in those moments that doesn’t thrive bottled up in a classroom.

Kids need a place to run, to push their limits and to exert their energy.

While this sounds like a no-brainer, there are many schools in need of better facilities to provide students with tools and venues for this crucial creative play time.

Dr Pepper Snapple Group is determined to do just that.

Over the years, the partnership between Dr Pepper Snapple Group and Good Sports has donated more than $ 4.5 million in brand new sports equipment as part of Dr Pepper Snapple’s $38.5 million commitment by 2020 to bring active play to kids in need

And they are ready to provide these unique opportunities once again.

The Let’s Play High School Makeover Challenge is a video contest benefiting student-athletes at underfunded high schools across the U.S.

Over the past few months, schools all over the nation have contributed 60 to 90 second videos explaining why they feel their school would benefit from such a gift.

And in the next few weeks, the winning school will receive $100,000 in brand new athletic equipment!  WOW!  This will be such a blessing to these students!

The submissions have now been narrowed down to 20 and in the coming days those submissions will be narrowed even further to 10 remaining schools.

What an exciting time for the schools represented…the best part: there is a super easy way for YOU to help these children earn their new equipment!

Voting on the top 10 videos will be made public between 12 p.m. EST on September 8th through 11:59 p.m. EST on the 17th. Hurry and vote here: http://bit.ly/2wP8Nef

When you get a chance (or several chances), please check out this incredible competition and utilize one of your greatest privileges: VOTE!

Not only will you help Dr Pepper Snapple Group select their winner, you will be a small part in students all over the nation gaining access to the tools they need to PLAY!

Be sure to follow along with the contest using the hashtag #LetsPlayHSMakeover!

I went to a super small school myself, and I know that something like this would have been such a blessing to the students there. Thanks for letting me know about this, going to go vote now.

This looks like a great program. My son was able to get more creative with legos, arts, and a special gym program. In the summer. I wish they incorporate these same learning ideas during the school year.
