My Favorite Things This Week

Fab FriYAY Five is a weekly listing of my five favorite products, quotes, crafts or ideas of the week!  Enjoy!

(1) Shutterfly Mommy Necklaces

photo (4)

I love my babies.  I am one of those moms who always has a photo, or ten… to share with you.  When I was hunting for Christmas gifts this past year I wanted to find unique and personalized gifts for several of the “extra good” people on my list.  In the process I found: Mommy Necklaces!  Now, Shutterfly does not advertise them as Mommy Necklaces but not many other categories of individuals (ok, also GrandMommies) would wear photos around their necks.  This photo necklace was everything I wanted and more.  This is the modern day version of a locket!   It is very subtle; not too “in your face” at all.  The photo quality is surprisingly good considering the small disc size.  And the price was on point – always watch Shutterfly before you purchase: they run discounts all week long.  You want to wait until you see a 40% off sale if you can because next to 50% off that is their best deal.

(2) Sargento Balanced Breaks

These little life-savers are genius.  Sargento has come up with a fool-proof snacking plan that you can easily throw into any bag, backpack, etc.  Did I mention they are only 180 calories?!?  Plus, they are delicious:

You will receive three “packs” with each purchase.  Their portions are perfect and the nutrition value is unbeatable.

(4) Crystal Light Raspberry Lemonade Packs

So, almost every single article or interview you read about health yields one very distinct revelation: you MUST drink water.  Well, that’s great for people who enjoy water.  But what about those of us who do not?  Enter: Crystal Light.  Throw a box of these in your purse and you are good to go.  I am well aware that these delights have been around for quite some time.  I am also aware that there are tons of brands that create similar on-the-go drink-mixing varieties.  Which further bolsters my argument that they are amazing.  Even if you love the taste of water, these are worth a try.  They come in several different flavors but this week I am craving the amazingness that is Raspberry Lemonade:

(5) The Week Magazine

Here is a somewhat embarrassing tidbit about myself: I possess a Journalism degree and 90% of the time I have absolutely no clue what is going on in the news.  Yep.  I admitted it.  Step one: admit your faults.  I spent years learning how to investigate it, cover it and produce it yet I sit here ridiculously ignorant to the “goings-on” of my beloved nation.  Enter: The Week magazine.  I cannot even begin to express my love for this publication.  My Dad introduced me to this magazine around the time I left for law school.  Probably because he assumed, rightfully so, that I would become swamped with all things law school and become inappropriately uninformed about the world around me.  Reluctantly, I accepted the subscription.  For weeks (no pun intended) they collected dust on my coffee table.  But one day, that will live in infamy, I actually cracked one open.  Life changed.  Thank you, Daddy.

These weekly periodicals of incredibleness cover everything.  Literally everything:  World News, Politics, Science, Technology, Art, Business and yes friends, even Entertainment news!  And they do so in an unbiased manner that any reader can appreciate.

Two of my favorite parts about The Week:

(a) On their website they have a section entitled: “Five Things You Need To Know Now.”  You can check this out daily and be the smartest person in the room.  Well, maybe not the smartest.  But you will no doubt be well-informed and prepared to discuss current events with ease.

(b) The “It Must be True, I read it in the Tabloids” section of each magazine.  This section will keep you laughing all day long.  Great elevator or water cooler conversation starters, too!

The Week is less than $1 per week with subscriptions ranging from $49.50 for the year (digital version of the magazine sent directly to your “smart” device of choice) to $69.50 for the year (digital and print versions each week)!!!

Hope you enjoyed my favorite “things” from this week!  Check back next week for some new fun things to try.

NOTE: I do not receive any form of commission or affiliate revenue from any of my product endorsements.  These are simply just products I really love and want to brag about!
